Marieke and Martin celebrated their love with 29 of their loved ones in the small village Rennepont, France. They chose Domaine Rennepont du Champagne as the backdrop for their wedding. The owners Tim and Resi are the two most amazing and compassionate people I have ever met. They open their hearts to everyone whom visits the location and go above and beyond for their couples. What more could you wish for.
The wedding weekend kicked off with a tapas party on the friday. The moment the guests arrived at the domaine they were welcomed by Marieke and Martin. Together they walked to the patio where they were welcomed with the most delicious tapas. After an 7 hour drive, alle the way from The Netherlands, you could imagine they were hungry. A perfect and low-key way to start your wedding weekend and welcome your guests.
The next day Martin took his two best friends to the champagne house. Of course we couldn’t skip the champagne fields a few minutes along the road. They took a quick break, popped a champagne bottle and enjoyed that very same moment. The silence there was in between these fields was so calming I would recommend every groom to start off their day like this. After a sip of champagne and a sigar they went back to the domaine and Martin started with his getting ready. After the getting ready I made sure to find the perfect spot for the first look. This would be a moment for just the two of them. Forgetting everything else that is around them and take all in. They shared a beautiful moment together and decided to join their family while they were waiting on the patio. Even owner Resi shared a few tears when she saw Marieke for the first time. They get so invested with their couples, it was beautiful to be a witness of this moment.
When the time was there all the guests gathered together in the front of the domaine and walked together with Martin to the church where they were getting married by her grandfather. Together with her father Marieke walked down the aisle, after being dropped off first with a Porsche cabrio. The ceremony was gorgeous and intimate. They had written vows for each other which made everyone tear up. When the kiss was about to start the grandfather forgot about it and moved on with the ceremony. When Martin asked about it, the grandfather laughed and said “and now you can kiss your bride”
Back at the domaine they toasted with everyone and had an amazing dinner filled with the most hilarious and emotional speeches. There was even a roast against Martin that was very much appreciated!
They ended their wedding with a brunch where the guests would come together one last time and everyone would say their goodbyes.
